Better decisions lead to better lives and a better society.

Alison Stumacher

Education Community Manager

Alison Stumacher is the Education Community Manager at the Alliance for Decision Education. She has been in the field of education for nearly two decades as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, coach supervisor, and new teacher trainer in public, charter, and independent schools in and around Philadelphia. Most recently, she served as a Literacy Supervisor at the Children's Literacy Initiative, working closely with School District of Philadelphia teachers, principals, and district leaders to support their vision for early literacy instruction. She believes deeply in education as a tool for social justice, and the importance of children seeing themselves, their voices, their communities and their stories celebrated and centered in their classrooms.

Alison earned her B.A. in Sociology from Wesleyan University and her Ed.M in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She lives in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia, with her husband, Justin (also a teacher!) and their two sons. When not working or parenting, she enjoys finding new trails in the magical NW Philly woods, playing music and daydreaming about travel.
