Joe Levit is a storyteller who enjoys making concepts easy for audiences to understand. He has a long history of developing K-12 content and programs for both teachers and students. From feature articles for National Geographic Explorer to teacher guides and activities for Kids Discover, Scholastic, and Time for Kids magazine. He has published more than 40 manuscripts for science and sports audiences.
Before working at the Alliance, Joe spent five years developing films and other interactive media for the exhibition department at the American Museum of Natural History. More recently, he helped brand scientific content as the manager of research communications at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Joe has a Masters in Science Journalism from Boston University, and is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. He lives in Manhattan. When not taking full advantage of the city’s museums, shows and architecture with his wife, he can be found gardening on his building’s rooftop or catching creatures in Central Park with his son.
